"Photography validates my life , making real what might otherwise seem a murky, unworthy dream. I come to a point of balance, the place where I recognize how my personal journey has led me to "why not?"instead of ""why?"" In that lies possibility, a moment in which to embrace serendipity. Photography offers an opportunity to see the unseen, embellished by careful listening to all forms of language. It brings forth form, texture, shadow, reflection, and feeling. And it is always magic to see images unfold in the darkroom. Black and white photography is manifested interpretation. It touches immortality. It is the dance of my mind's eye."

Name:  Robert Campagna

What is your favorite medium to work with? Silver Gelatin Prints, the good old fashioned darkroom

What cheers you up? Seeing the starpacked sky in the wee hours

Which of the four seasons do you love the most and why? Winters, high winds, deep snow,  bone chilling temperatures, I grew up in Iowa and such weather builds toughness, it cracks me up when people complain about the weather.

Describe your studio in less than 5 words: Where all things are possible

What is your favorite part about your studio? the uncluttered space.

Little know fact about you as an artist? I paid $200 deposit to study under Ansel Adams, he then died, the money wasn't refunded.

Did you go to art school or are you self taught? I am self taught, I have a library of about 450 art and photo books

How did you become an artist? I once was a government bureaucrat in charge of public housing, the ultimate rebellion was to be a self-employed artist (read that, no retirement, no health care, no security....but also lots of happiness)

Where is your favorite spot in Loveland and why? Henry's, the food is good and the staff are great

If you could interview one person in the world, who would it be? a steel worker
