Name:  Ellen Woodbury

What is your favorite medium to work with?  Stone.

What cheers you up?  Great art, riding my bike.

Which of the four seasons do you love the most and why?  Winter.  I love to ski, and I love the sparkling white, muffled shapes assumed by ordinary things after a snowfall.

Describe your studio in less than 5 words:  My dusty heaven.

What is your favorite part about your studio?  It is my special place to create for as long as I want.

Little know fact about you as an artist?  I was a Disney Directing Animator and Character Animator for 20 years.

Did you go to art school or are you self taught?  BFA in Film and Art, Syracuse University.  MFA in Experimental Animation, California Institute of the Arts.
"Squash and Stretch", Sivec Marble (Greek) and Mongolian Imperial Black Marble, 19 x 18 1/2 x 12 1/2 inches.

How did you become an artist?  Hard work, perseverance, imagination, a dream, and luck.

Where is your favorite spot in Loveland and why?  Benson Sculpture Garden.  The sculptures and the setting always inspire me.

If you could interview one person in the world, who would it be?  Henry Moore, he was a very articulate sculptor in both stone and bronze.
